Our 12 week strength program is designed to build strength and muscle whilst still becoming fitter. We do this by breaking the program down to 3 phases each being 4 weeks long.

Muscular endurance

Week 1 to 4

Muscular endurance is the ability of a muscle to achieve a high amount of weight in a longer period of time. We will typically be good anywhere from minimum 15 reps upwards.

We will use this phase to learn all the movements before we go into the next 2 phases which require a lot more heavy lifting. This is where we want to focus on form and technique and iron out any bad habits.

Maximal Strength

Week 5 to 8

This is the maximum weight you can lift in a single repetition. Through this phase you will be lifting heavy weight at a low rep range, typically 1 – 5 reps, and 4 – 5 sets, between 85% – 100% 1RM. Don’t worry about the all the numbers, we are there to make sure you get it right.

This phase will get you ready for your hypertrophy phase as this will increase your base strength meaning you will be able to lift more on your hypertrophy phase to gain most amount of progress.

Hypertrophy

Week 9 to 12

Hypertrophy is, by definition, the enlargement of an organ or tissue from the increase in size of its cells. It is the process of increasing the size of the cells that are already there.

You will be lifting typically between 8 – 12 reps around 3 sets and anywhere between 70% – 85% 1RM.
